Privacy Policy
What Thundr Mobile collects, why, who sees it, and how long it lasts — including whether your calls are recorded.
Last reviewed 24 August 2026
In short: you can browse without an account. Camera and microphone access is a browser permission you grant for a call and can revoke at any time. Payment card numbers are handled by payment providers, not stored by us in full. You can ask for a copy of your data or its deletion. Calls themselves are not recorded (§11).
1. Scope
This policy covers Thundr Mobile at thundr.mobi — the website, the video calling, messaging, profiles and purchases. It explains what personal information is collected, why, who it is shared with, and what you can do about it.
Thundr Mobile is an independent service and is not affiliated with thundr.com or any similarly named service. This policy speaks only for us.
2. What we collect
What you give us
- Account details — what you provide when you register, such as a display name and contact address.
- Profile content — a photo, a description, anything else you choose to add.
- What you write — messages you send through the service.
- Purchase information — billing details and transaction records when you buy coins or other digital goods. Payment processing is handled by third-party providers and we do not store full payment card numbers.
- Reports and support requests — what you tell us when you report someone or contact support.
What is collected automatically
- Device information — device type, operating system, browser, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, interactions with content, time spent, and the page that referred you.
- Approximate location — derived from your IP address. More precise location is collected only with your consent.
- Log data — server logs recording IP address, access times, and system activity.
From third parties
- Social sign-in — if you sign in with a service such as Google, we may receive your name, email address and profile picture from it.
- Analytics and infrastructure providers — aggregate information about how the service is used.
3. Camera and microphone
Thundr Mobile runs in your browser and has no special access to your device. Camera and microphone are browser permissions, which has three consequences worth knowing:
- Nothing can be accessed until you grant the permission when your browser prompts you.
- The permission is held by your browser, for this site. It is not an app-level permission and it does not persist anywhere else on your phone.
- You can revoke it at any time in your browser’s site settings, and it takes effect immediately — no uninstall required.
Live video and audio are transmitted to the other person in the call so that the call can happen. See §11 for what this policy does not yet state about recording and retention of call media.
4. How the information is used
- To operate the service — connecting calls, delivering messages, showing who is available
- To process purchases and maintain your coin balance
- To keep the service safe — handling reports, detecting fraud, enforcing the rules
- To provide support when you contact us
- To understand and improve how the service is used, generally in aggregate
- To meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies and similar storage keep you signed in, remember your preferences, keep the service secure, and help us understand usage. The categories, and how to turn off what is optional, are in the Cookie Policy.
Most of it can be controlled from your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of the service from working — signing in, in particular.
6. Who it is shared with
- Other users — your display name, profile photo and anything else you make public are visible to people you interact with.
- Service providers — hosting, payment processing, analytics and moderation partners who process information on our behalf and are bound to use it only for that purpose.
- Legal and safety — where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to investigate fraud, enforce our terms, or protect someone’s safety.
- Business transfers — if the service is involved in a merger, reorganisation or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction.
- Aggregated data — anonymised information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
7. How long it is kept
- While your account is active — for as long as it remains active.
- After you delete your account — personal data is removed or anonymised within a reasonable period.
- Content others have interacted with — publicly shared content that others have seen may be retained in anonymised form after deletion.
- Legal retention — certain records are kept longer where necessary for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute handling or enforcement.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw a consent you previously gave, and receive your data in a portable form.
To exercise any of these, email [email protected] from the address on your account. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law. We may need to verify who you are before acting — which protects you, not us.
9. Under-18s
Thundr Mobile is not intended for anyone under 18, or under the applicable minimum age where they live, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that we have, the account and the information are removed.
If you believe a minor is using the service, report the profile or email [email protected]. Those reports are prioritised above every other kind.
10. Public content and search engines
Content you make public — a profile, for example — may be visible to other users and may be indexed by search engines. If you delete or change it, there can be a delay before search results catch up, because that part is not under our control.
11. Call recording
We do not record your video calls, and we do not keep the video or audio of a call after it ends. The call is carried between the two of you; there is no recording made on our side, so there is no call footage to store, hand over or lose in a breach.
What this does not protect you from is the other person. Screen recording exists on every phone, and that is true of every video service, ours included — no platform can prevent it. So the honest advice is the same as on our safety page: assume anything on camera can be captured by whoever is on the other end, and do not do anything on camera you would not want kept.
Note that this section is about the call itself. Things around the call — your account details, who you called and when, payments, and reports you file — are covered in sections 2 and 7, and some of that is kept for the periods described there.
12. Changes and contact
This policy may be updated as the service or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last reviewed, and material changes will be signposted.
Questions, requests, or complaints: [email protected], or the contact page.
